Comprehensive KIR typing using long-read sequencing
KIR CompleteMX is our in-development assay for comprehensive typing of Killer-cell Immunoglobulin-like Receptor (KIR) genes using Oxford Nanopore Technologies (ONT) long-read sequencing. Designed to provide full gene coverage across all relevant KIR loci, the assay aims to streamline library prep and enable in-depth KIR genotyping with NGSengine® analysis.
Killer-cell Immunoglobulin-like Receptors (KIRs) are a family of highly polymorphic genes expressed on natural killer (NK) cells and subsets of T cells. These receptors interact with HLA class I molecules and play a central role in regulating immune responses. Variability in KIR gene content and alleles is associated with outcomes in hematopoietic stem cell transplantation, infectious disease susceptibility, autoimmunity, and reproductive success.
The KIR CompleteMX assay amplifies all known KIR genes in three multiplex reactions, followed by pooling and library preparation for ONT long-read sequencing. The long-read strategy enables better resolution of complex gene structures and haplotypes. Data is analyzed in NGSengine, supporting confident genotyping through an intuitive interface.
