As Technician Laboratory Equipment at GenDx, you play an essential role in ensuring that our laboratory equipment performs at its best, supporting the development, production, and quality control of our innovative transplant diagnostics solutions. Your work directly contributes to the reliability and quality of the products that help improve patients’ lives worldwide.

In this role, you are responsible for planning and coordinating preventive maintenance, testing, and calibration of laboratory equipment, ensuring compliance with GenDx quality standards. You also troubleshoot technical issues and work closely with colleagues to quickly resolve equipment malfunctions and minimize downtime.

 

To be successful in this role, you are accurate, well-organized, and proactive, with a hands-on approach to solving technical challenges. You enjoy working in a structured environment and communicate effectively with a variety of stakeholders, enabling smooth collaboration across teams.

Responsibilities

  • Working according to ISO 13485 standards and IVD regulations.
  • Plans and coordinates the maintenance of all laboratory equipment and maintains systems and procedures for operational efficiency.
  • Storage of laboratory equipment and materials related to them.
  • Acts as the point of contact for internal stakeholders and external service providers regarding equipment maintenance and validation.
  • Preparation of validation/verification plan and report, SOP, and incoming control of laboratory equipment.
  • Handles day-to-day testing and calibration, ensuring that equipment meets GenDx standards.
  • Troubleshoots for solutions in case of malfunctioning of equipment.

Requirements

  • MBO or HBO degree in molecular biology or equivalent or required level through work experience.
  • At least 3 years of hands-on experience as a Technician Laboratory Equipment or equivalent.
  • Excellent knowledge of molecular diagnostics and laboratory techniques, especially DNA sequencing, amplification technologies and related analyses software.
  • Experience with working according to ISO 13485 standards.
  • Strong planning, organizational, and collaboration skills, with the ability to work independently and maintain attention to detail.
  • A proactive, positive, and hands-on attitude.
  • Excellent command of English (written and spoken).
  • You currently live near Utrecht Science Park or are willing to relocate within a reasonable commuting distance of the office.
  • To be considered for this position, you must be legally permitted to live and work in the Netherlands. Sponsorship for a work visa may not always be possible.
