To reinforce our R&D Software team, we are looking for a

Software Developer (B.ASc/MSc, 100%)

with an interest in biology and excellent object-based programming skills

 

As software developer at GenDx, you are working on our HLA typing (SBTengine® and NGSengine®) and chimerism monitoring (KMRengine®) software packages that are used for transplantation purposes worldwide. You are able to view things from the end user’s perspective and you are able to work both client- and product-oriented. For you, it is of utmost importance that every end-user can implement and use the GenDx software packages intuitively. You add value to the R&D Software team, because you are enthusiastic, creative, and accurate. You excel both when working on your own and in a team. You see challenges rather than problems and resolve complex issues based on different approaches.

Main tasks

  • Maintenance and development of our software packages.
  • Development and implementation of new software tools.
  • Documentation and administration of design work.
  • Assisting Customer Support in answering questions about our software.
  • Working according to ISO 13485 standards.

Requirements

  • MSc or B.ASc in Mathematics, (Bio)Informatics, Computer Science, or equivalent.
  • Nominal study progress (i.e. direct path from VWO to University) is preferred.
  • Solid knowledge of and experience with software development.
  • Excellent command of Dutch and English (written and spoken).
  • Proficiency with C#, Visual Studio, Delphi, and SQL databases as well as familiarity with molecular
    diagnostics (e.g. DNA sequencing and related analyses software) are highly preferred.

The Technical Support Specialist at GenDx has an extensive knowledge of molecular biology and techniques such as quantitative real-time PCR, DNA sequencing, and related analyses software. In order to resolve specific technical issues, you empathize with customers that are using our products and provide them with support by e-mail. Naturally, you are an enthusiastic person, who communicates clearly and enjoys solving complex issues. You are part of the Support team, working closely together with our Sales team as well as our R&D team.

Main tasks

  • Resolving customers’ technical issues by answering their e-mails.
  • Using and developing our CRM (Customer Relationship Management) system.
  • Communication of customer needs and questions within the organization.
  • Providing online education activities for customers.
  • Working according to ISO 13485 quality standards.

Requirements

  • PhD in molecular biology.
  • Familiarity with immunological matters, especially the HLA gene family, is preferred.
  • Smooth communication skills.
  • Excellent command of Dutch and English (written and spoken).
  • You are a team player; you show initiative and know when to consult your colleagues.
  • You are service-minded, representing GenDx professionally at all times.
  • You live in the Utrecht area, or are willing to relocate.

Primary responsibiities include:

  • Management of the North American team of technical support and logistics personnel
  • Oversee sales, logistics, and support functions in North America
  • Increase market share in North American transplantation market
  • Setting up a North American based dedicated education program
  • Develop and maintain strong customer relationships through face to face visits at key accounts
  • Providing GenDx headquarters with market feedback and progress reports on a regular basis
  • > 50% travel, including travel to GenDx HQ in The Netherlands

Essential experience and qualities include:

  • A customer focused approach that leverages world-class support to build close relationships with clients
  • A people focused management style where success is measured by building a cohesive team and the development of team members
  • 5+ years team building and management experience in the field of molecular diagnostics, preferably transplantation
  • Very strong technically with a deep understanding of NGS, and Sanger sequencing
  • Mission driven personality guided by an ethical point of view
  • An understanding and appreciation for Dutch culture. Previous experience working for a Dutch or other Northern European company is a plus.
  • BS degree or higher in (molecular) biology, pharmacy, or chemistry. An MBA is a plus.
  • Located in or near Chicago, IL
