Johan joined GenDx in November 2020 as a technician after studying Biomedical Laboratory Research at Avans University of Applied Science. During his studies, he performed 2 internships that focused on molecular biology. First, an internship at GenDx was done where further research into the chimerism product line was performed. Next, an internship at the Erasmus Medical Center was done where genetic causes for myopia were researched in zebrafish. During his internship at GenDx, an interest in transplant-based diagnostics was developed and Johan decided to return to GenDx after finishing his studies. As a technician, Johan produces and develops products that can be used for HLA typing and more.
