Diya Gao PhD
Diya received a B.A.Sc. degree in molecular biology from the Hogeschool Arnhem-Nijmegen after completed her bachelor thesis at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, US in 2011. She then pursued a Master’s degree at the University of Manchester in UK, majored in Biochemistry. In 2013, she moved back to the Netherlands and did a Ph.D. at the Erasmus Medical Center in Rotterdam, focusing on molecular and clinical implications of IDH1 and EGFR mutations in gliomas. She continued her academic career as a postdoc researcher in the same group, focusing on personalized medicine for lung cancer and glioblastoma patients carrying EGFR mutations. Diya has always been passionate about translating scientific knowledge into products that can make major impacts on clinical decisions. In mid-2020, Diya joined the GenDx R&D team, to design and develop faster and more accurate diagnostic tools that help improve the quality of life for transplant patients.
