Advances in NGS-based HLA Typing

At the morning session, the ins & outs of NGS-Based HLA Typing are covered, including:

  • Workflows for different NGS platforms
  • Data analysis software
  • Implementation of NGS in the lab
  • Users share their experiences

In the afternoon, learn to perform effective NGS data analysis through case study (beginner to advanced). You can even bring NGS data of your most difficult samples* to maximize the experience.

Learn how NGS is a wonderful tool at the closing Plenary lecture Peculiar encounters in NGS data by Erik Rozemuller (Co-founder and Senior Scientist Bioinformatics at GenDx).

You will receive up to 6.0 contact hours/0.9 continuing education credits for this training.

*Anonymized data only. You can anonymize data by changing the names of fastq-files.

Teaching Session II

Chimerism Monitoring

Learn how to accurately monitor chimerism in a recipient after transplantation using quantitative PCR (qPCR). Due to high sensitivity of the technique, relapse can be detected at an earlier stage.

The program includes:

  • Principles of quantitative PCR
  • Chimerism Monitoring workflow
  • Data analysis software (laboratory and data management assistant)

Users also share their experiences with Chimerism Monitoring using qPCR, including workflow and software.

You will receive 2.5 contact hours/0.375 continuing education credits for this training.

Program:

One-Day-Workflow: from sample to typing report in one day
Maarten Penning PhD (Chief Technology Officer, GenDx)

Allelic Typing of KIR: NGS using the Illumina platform
Paul Wright PhD (Clinical Scientist in H&I, Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust)

Chimerism monitoring: HLA-loss at time of relapse
Müberra Ahci-Hanci PhD (Postdoctoral scientist, Essen University Hospital)
