Oscar got his Bachelor’s degree in Biology and Medical Laboratory research at Saxion Hogeschool Enschede. His internships at the Groningen University he specialized in molecular biology and Synthetic Biology. Along with the first internship he joined the international Genetically Engineered Machine competition (iGEM) to develop new relevant microorganisms for life science purposes. Result: a bandage, capable of detecting and fighting infections in burns.
The second internship was focused on Fluorescent proteins in which his task was to find out which fluorescent protein could be used for the department of Molecular Cell research.
Oscar joined early 2018 and loves to work with genes and HLA-typing. As a real team player, he is very motivated to apply his laboratory skills and contribute further to the research at GenDx.
