To strengthen our R&D Software team, we are looking for a detail-oriented Bioinformatician with an interest in developing analysis pipelines for Next-Generation Sequencing data in the context of transplantation.

As Bioinformatician at GenDx, you are a member of the R&D team, involved with software and reagent development. You are in the fore-front of the research intended to lead to new products for the transplantation field. You add value to the R&D team, because you are enthusiastic, creative, and pro-active, with a keen eye for detail and quality. You excel both when working on your own, and in a team. You see challenges rather than problems, and resolve complex issues based on different approaches.

▪ Develop prototype algorithms.
▪ Write tools and pipelines to assist the R&D team with analyses and data interpretation.
▪ Assist with the implementation of algorithms in software packages for clinical use.
▪ Contribute to scientific publications of the R&D team.
▪ Monitor the field for new developments and techniques.
▪ Work according to IEC 62304 and ISO 13485 standards.

▪ PhD degree in (Bio)Informatics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or equivalent.
▪ Strong coding skills preferably in Python, R, or equivalent.
▪ Proficient in one or more scripting languages.
▪ Awareness of Agile principles is a pre.
▪ An interest in object-based programming, or software development in general, is a pre.
▪ Familiarity with molecular diagnostics (e.g. DNA sequencing and related analyses software) is a pre.
▪ Excellent command of English ( written and spoken).
▪ You live in the Utrecht area, or are willing to relocate.
