Mission: Genome Diagnostics aims to offer accurate diagnostic tools to facilitate donor/recipient matching, ultimately leading to higher success rates of bone-marrow, cord blood and stem cell transplantations.

ImageImageHLA-DQB1 Launched!

Based on customer feedback on the previous DQB1 SBT excellerator kit, we have decided to revise the sequencing primers as well as GSSPs.

As a result, the unique strategy of the new DQB1 SBTexcellerator kit employs now amplification with primers located outside exon 2 and 3, thus both exons are amplified entirely in a single PCR reaction, thus providing full information with less ambiguities!

In addition, the set of GSSPs has been changed such that we now provide a set of fewer GSSPs nonetheless still giving the highest possible level of resolution.

For more detailled information visit the HLA-DRB1 product webpage. You may place your orders at your local HLA-specialized QIAGEN distributor.

SBTengine® Promo Edition

To celebrate the release of our new HLA-DRB1 SBTexcellerator® kit we are pleased to introduce this special offer!

Each institute purchasing one or more HLA-DRB1 SBTexcellerator kits before December 1 2008 will receive the special SBTengine Promo Edition free of charge. This way you can enjoy the synergy of our SBTexcellerator and SBTengine products to a full extend!

The SBTengine Promo Edition is a fully functional SBTengine software package which is valid for 3 months after installation. Just place your HLA-DRB1 order at your local HLA-specialized QIAGEN distributor and get your special SBTengine® Promo Edition.

For transplantation there is a high need for a tissue match between patient and the donor. Without a full match there is an increased chance that the transplanted organ or bone marrow maybe rejected. Besides many immediate negative effects for the patient, a failed transplantation also affects future transplantation, as the patient may become highly sensitized.

Tissue typing maybe carried out by various methods. The preferred method of choice is dependent on several factors like location, access to technology, expertise of personnel and allocated budget. In the UMC Utrecht researchers have developed a strategy that allows typing of the donors and patient at the highest resolution.
This Sequencing Based Strategy (SBT) has become the gold standard. However, proper implementation is delayed by the availability of adequate software, reliable reagents and proper training and support.
GenDx offers a comprehensive solution that is already adopted by a significant number of laboratories world wide.

Registration is now open for the upcoming education events:

  1. In September we will organize the HLA-SBT course. This course, encompassing two and a half days, will provide you the skills and techniques you need to perform Sequencing Based Typing (SBT) for high resolution tissue typing successfully.
  2. In October we will organize a HLA-SBT Teaching Session. This teaching session is focussed on resolving ambiguities and Null alleles which are hot topics in the tissue typer's community.
